Stina Johansson, a freshman at Ventura College, placed second in the women's 5-kilometer race in 18:03.35 at the California Community College Athletic Association Southern California Championships at Mile Square Regional Park in Fountain Valley. Johnasson helped Ventura tie for 11th place to advance to the state championship meet Nov. 20 at Woodward Park in Fresno.
